Spanning over 11.9 hectares of land, this vast brownfield site will become the largest horizontal scaled development apartments in New Zealand have seen so far. Over the next 10 – 15 years, this site will be transformed through 4 stages of development, and into a community hub that’ll see 5000+ people call Te Tauoma home.

Te Tauoma will help Auckland meet its economic and housing needs by creating well-appointed apartments set among high quality open spaces and a community hub that revolves around the home. A place-sourced, culture-led, people-centred development that maintains a perfect balance between comfort and affordability.

It is the name gifted by mana whenua for this development in recognition of their deep spiritual connection and whakapapa to this place.

This gifting is seen as the remanifestation of what was once present, their occupation and heritage within the landscape with the opportunity to recast its spiritual essence, presence and mana motuhake in a way that respectfully recognises that lineage.

The logo design represents local Kaitiaki, and Lung who are similar to Taniwha. Both can represent guardians of water, and a symbolization of transformation. The line drawing is inspired by the 'hands' of Kaitiaki and Lung, represents people coming together to create community.
